Investment DictionaryInvestment Advisor
An investment advisor is a person or a company that is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and provides investment consultancies for remuneration. Investment advisor might provide consultancies also without SEC registering in small size cases.
It would be hard to distinguish the functions of investment advisor, investment manager and investment consultant exactly; however, ‘investment advisor’ is an official name for the investment consultancies and is regulated by authorities and licensed.
The investment consultant or investment manager are just names of positions that are very commonly used by financial intermediaries for an employee position that is really a salesman, aimed to sell investment products for clients. But of course, ‘fair’ and licensed investment consultant should do the same as investment advisor does, and investment manager should not only consult but take decision for the client by himself. | ![]() Recommended Topics Investment psychology gains momentum in contemporary business world Balance Sheet Most Popular Articles Investing in Gold (I) Investing in Gold (II) Investing in Uncertain Period
