In most countries commercial banks have subsidiaries that provide leasing, brokerage, investment banking services. Bank groups have several sources of income: interest income from interest rate spread between deposits and credits, commissions (from account administration, money transfers, currency trading) and investment services.
Some banks specializes only on retail banking (financial services for individuals) or corporate banking (financial services for companies) but most banks if they are not very small works in both areas.
